Accreditation pathways with the University of Bath

Optimus Professional Learning has an agreement with the University of Bath which allows teachers to combine work on our courses with study towards Masters-level credits. The University of Bath Modular Advanced Education Course (MAEC) programme comprises six Educational Enquiry Units plus a dissertation and leads to an MA in Education.

Your work on up to three OPL courses can form part of up to three of the six Educational Enquiry units on the MAEC programme. If you want to progress from an OPL course to a Masters-level credit you will be assigned a tutor, who will support you in producing a 4,000 word essay related to each chosen course.

To complete your Masters programme you will be required to undertake a further three Education Enquiry Units, including an educational research unit via face-to-face tuition or distance learning.

The University of Bath will charge a fee per Educational Enquiry unit. The fee includes:

• Supervision
• Registration as a part-time postgraduate student of the University of Bath
• Access to all library and other university facilities (including remote access to electronic databases and online journals via the Internet)
• Assessment
