Multiple intelligences

Multiple intelligences theory presents a definition of intelligence that challenges some of the assumptions of those whose work is rooted in other definitions. This is important to all involved in classroom practice, because your own view of intelligence affects how you plan your work, how you teach, how you interact with your students or pupils, how you assess, and how you report to parents.

The aim of this course is to provide professional development for all staff in school (teaching, non-teaching, and governors) who wish to improve their understanding of the theory, and of how the theory can be used as a basis for teaching and learning. The last module is particularly relevant to classroom teachers, but other staff would benefit from reading it through, even if the can't complete all the Activities and Tasks.
