Managing meetings
The aim of this course is to provide professional development for all school staff and governors who wish to improve the effectiveness of the meetings they attend in whatever capacity. It's based on the belief that efficient and effective meetings in school have a positive impact on pupil learning.
As you work through the course, you will:
- analyse how any meeting held in school contributes directly or indirectly to your pupils' learning
- evaluate the effectiveness of your own contribution to meetings
- enhance your knowledge and understanding of how you can lead and manage meetings more effectively
- develop the skills necessary to make the best use of time and other people's contributions
The course provides you with opportunities to put your learning into practice in real meetings in school, and requires you to perform a number of tasks such as writing an agenda and taking minutes.
