Effective induction
In the education world, getting induction right is essential. Recruitment and retention of staff are such major issues for schools in many countries around the world that they can't afford to skimp on the vital process of inducting new staff. There's little doubt that colleagues who are given the relevant knowledge, taught appropriate skills and generally nurtured into a new job will settle more quickly and perform more effectively.
The aim of this course is to help schools devise programmes of induction that are suitable for the needs of each inductee.
This course will be appropriate for:
- leadership teams
- governors/Board members
- other staff, eg, line managers, mentors and 'buddies', and those with responsibilities for inducting new and existing staff
This course has four modules:
- Module 1: Induction basics
- Module 2: The fundamentals of effective induction
- Module 3: Inducting recently qualified teachers and temporary staff
- Module 4: Creating an induction handbook
