Throughout a child’s early years, parents or carers are the primary educators. The aim of this course is to widen the views of all staff to the possibilities for involving parents and carers in their child’s education and the potential benefits and pitfalls that exist.

Meet the course author:

Roger Hurn

Roger Hurn is an ex-primary head and consultant. Roger has spent several years working on projects sponsored by the Children's Directorate that are designed to help parents and families to engage with the education process. He has run workshops for Continyou, an organisation dedicated to building learning communities by improving the quality of parents' involvement in their children's learning.
